[TheList] P25 processing delay

From memory Police initially started trialling various P25 equipment in
about early 2005. Andy could probably narrow it down better than that,
it was suppost to have been commercial in confidence.

Icom, Kenwood, Tait, Motorola, Simoco were the big 5 I recall, but I
understand there were more than that.

For Tait to win the contract is a major coup.

At that time I was told there were issues with all brands as it was new
emerging technology.

I'm surprised it's taken this long as the Tetra was suppost to have
started rolling out in 1999.

We got an extra 10 years, we should be rapt.

Regards,

Neill.
