That's true, Brendan.  However, I'm just aware that I can hear what I believe is Tauranga1 in a few parts of Hamilton (but only on one of the VTG channels so I'm likely hearing skip more than it getting into the network on the input) and distance wise it's similar to down there (plus we have the Kaimais in the way)
