Hi there Guys,
I've had my radio install in bits lately, due to some reno work in my
workshop.
Yesterday I hooked up my UBCT8 to a very simple aerial to see what was
happening, using the two
frequencies 75.7125 MHz ( Central Canterbury Fire Exclusive) and 75.6000
MHz (South Canterbury Fire Exclusive),
at the moment I can hear Rangiora and St Andrews at a couple of jobs,
they are using Sel-Call tones via their MSU's.
However, Harewood and Spreydon are also at jobs, and I can get the
verbals (like Sit-reps and Stops), but there are no
actual Sel-Call tones for any changes of Status?, there is what you
would call a short "carrier drop" every now and then.
Are the Career brigades using a different status system to the Volunteer
brigades/
Has anyone else struck this?
One other thing, I looked at RadioWiki and for Ashburton, it states that
this brigade is now on 421.3125 MHz for dispatch?
To be fair I haven't heard Ashburton turned out since I've had the radio
on, but this doesn't really make a lot of sense,
considering they were on an old Police frequency of 75.3500 MHz and they
haven't come up on either of the two Canterbury
frequencies I stated in the first part of my post.

Cheers,
ZL3XD.
