[TheList] TheList Digest, Vol 99, Issue 11

It would be interesting to know if they actively police the use of scanners
on their services.
This is the first and only time I've seen a specific reference to people
not being allowed to use them almost anywhere.
I remember back before the police coms went digital here in Auckland I
occasionally got stopped (and friends with scanners did too)
by the police and they'd usually ask why I was listening to them - I'd
simply reply "to keep you buggers honest!" but they'd never say
I wasn't allowed to have it or use it etc or try to seize it.
It makes me wonder about the legality of someone like Kiwirail trying to
enforce a clause like that.
It's not as if the staff onboard the train, or the loco engineer or even
Train Control are discussing anything super sensitive or private.
