This is an interesting one..

My TRX-1 is off to a good home I bought it for a number of reasons

No further upgrade charges like Uniden. Purchase price at current 
exchange rates hurts without the extra mode charges on top
Has a great rubber outer case that protects it very well...

I wouldn't part with it if I needed a portable.  Computers with DSD+ and 
SDRSharp keep me grounded or at worst
trying to blend with the kids and laptops at the mall etc while I work 
out colour codes etc for DRM modes...

Both the Whistler and the Uniden work well...Once you come to grips with 
object based programming....
