You need 3 volts DC for each phone. Have they got line cords on each phone or are they missing? If the cord is still on the telephone use an ohm/resistance meter and look for a 1000 ohm reading. With the handset in place turn the crank handle, put your meter onto AC around 100volts range, if turned quickly you should get 50volts plus. These 2 wires are your line between the 2 phones. the other 2 wires are for your battery, polarity doesn't matter. If the cord is missing grt back to me and I will dig out my old plan books and give you the terminal numbers. Is the enclosed picture the phone you have? These will also work on single wire earth return.

Telephone No 332 Magneto
This model has been fitted with a magneto in place of a dial. It has a braided handset cord instead of the more usual plaited cord. This one was probably used for point-to-point working on the railway. Again the ETL handset suggests it is an Ericsson model, but it differs from others in their catalogue which have their magneto handle at the side.
Hope this helps you
Regards Adrian

They don’t appear to have a model no. The ‘generator crank handle’ is positioned in the center of the phone (where the rotorary dial is on later models). Do you need batteries (2 x No.6 cells in series giving 3 volts) at each end, or just one set?) Want to use them over about a 200mtr.  distance. Thanks, John B
