You have probably seen the low profile roof antennas on the 'Go Bus' 'City
Line' buses(They look a bit like a handle) also on Kiwi Rail Locos. They are
made for specific VHF/UHF Bands, but possibly there is a wide band model. I
have found that as far as receiving goes, many antennas will work reasonably
well on various harmonics e.g. a 150mHz Ant. Will Rx. Reasonably well at
450mHz and 'vica-versa'.
Hope that is of some help.
John B

Can anyone help me with this, I am having motor home with a fiberglass body
that need a scanner type antenna from 75 MHZ up to 500Mhz I like to have a
flat one on the roof so it does not interfere with my carport.
I have seen most of the AMBO's having a round tub with a base plate on the
back of the Ambo ,I am not sure if this is for radio communications in the
141MHz band .
Can any one help with some specifications for this type ?? Regards Rolf

Have you thought about mirror mounted with a fold-down base like the
truckies do?

CB one side and scanner the other or depending on the unit going to a bonnet
mount or bull bar mount?

cheers
Gary
