Thanks very much for the response to my plea for advice guys. I will be following up your ideas.

Those of you who say holes are not that bad, have never met my wife!

Cheers

Stephen

That's odd. My Carolla had three spare holes/gromits for features the model didn't have, so I just poked a hole in the rubber and stuffed the cables through...

I do wonder why folks get so tied up on not putting holes in their cars though?

If you own it for more than three or four years you're going to scrub far more value off it than a couple of small holes will cause, and unless you are severely handyman challenged there is no reason why said small holes should lead to chronic rust or structural failure issues!

(Understandable if it's a company car etc)

Cheers, Chris H.

Worth looking but many modern cars have very few places to push a cable through the firewall. One of mine has exactly 0 so im looking at a glass mount.

Have you thought about going to a different no hole mount likes of a bonnet Z mount and running the coax through the firewall via one of the many rubber grommets?

Can anyone please help with a high gain receiving only vhf mag antenna? If I have to get it from Oz or US so be it.

I’m not allowed to put any holes in our new car!, and my existing mag ants are deaf on vhf.

Thanks

Stephen
