thanks for you quick responds I have installed the software that came with the unit and know that the USB stick works .
In the software you can scan a range of freqeuncies out side the radio FM and Tv band
You can set top and botom frecq but when there is no transmission it will not record this in the list
I will uninstall the software that camewith the unit and see if I can find the ZADIG software Thanks for now Rolf

You need to download some software called "Zadig". Plug the dongle into a new USB port (as the current one with that dongle will link to the drivers you've installed to get it to work as a TV/FM device), run Zadig, and it should become usable.
The big thing you need to do is NOT install the software that comes with the device. Zadig puts the right driver in the right place for it to work as an SDR
Google around, further instructions are out there. Not all USB Tv dongles will do it though.
