There is only a few hours battery backup at each cellsite. Lots of areas 
are without mains power so the cellular network will be failing. Add to 
that the kind of traffic trying to use what's left and I wouldn't want 
to try to rely on it.

I heard a report that CDEM lost their base as the building failed so 
there were delays while they established alternatives.

I wonder what happened to Southcomms? It's almost like the building was 
destroyed from the media reports.
