I've been told that one of these two was Deidre Lack the Senior Sergeant at
Te Puke! :-( Doesn't sound good.

Hope she's going to be ok.

Hi,

A new alert is available for you to view on the Police website:

Location: State Highway Two just north of Te Puke
District: Bay Of Plenty

Bay of Plenty Police are currently at the scene of a serious crash at the
intersection of SH2 and Manoeka Road, Te Puke.

Two cars have been involved in a head on collision.  The sole occupants of
each vehicle are currently trapped inside.

The road will be closed whilst the serious crash unit attend to this matter.

Diversions currently in place are - Car traffic only via Te Puke Quarry Road
onto Rocky Cutting Road, and through to Welcome Bay Road.  These roads are
not suitable for heavy vehicles.

As the diversion roads are narrow, unsealed roads, we would encourage
motorists to consider delaying their journey for at least two hours to avoid
delays and congestion.
