<div dir="auto">I have been trying hard with the Vital t3 network in South Canterbury for a very long time now but over the last 1 month I have literally heard 2 transmissions. <div dir="auto">It just doesn't seem to be utilized quite yet outside of cities.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">It is working properly and I do get the ERR messages. It's just not busy at all.</div><div dir="auto">There are often alot of other background messages that pop up about REG and REREG etc, that's how I know it's somehow working. </div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Once they transfer over from MPT to T3 it will be a very busy network so watch that space.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">And on the other subject of the police interference, I bloody hope police down south don't get the idea to go digital, I know its hilly, I know its rugged and probably wouldn't work but with some effort it could.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">I was once listening to the Otago channel and police had a huge issue on evening with what sounded like Asian tourists in queenstown, they were shopping and coming over the police channel for Otago. Seems they may have been transmitting on the right frequency for the repeater receiver but they couldn't hear the police talking to them. I hope to Christ that they confiscated that guys' radio, that sort of <br>
behaviour isn't good enough at all,<br>
toward people that already have a hard enough job as it is.<br>
You see these radios on TradeMe with the usual warning that they'll only <br>
be sold to licenced hams,<br>
but it makes you wonder how often this is actually enforced, when you <br>
have clowns like this owning them.<br>

So continuing on with my isolation projects I have been playing around with<br>
digital modes.<br>
<br>
After switching to UniTrunker for MPT1327 I have pretty much got that<br>
nailed and working very well. It even has a fair bit of traffic here in the<br>
bay of islands to keep me interested.<br>
<br>
I have however had not much luck with DSDPlus. I think for the most part<br>
the main issue I am having is there is just no traffic on the new system.<br>
That being said I have had some fun with decode errors.<br>

Running the original fmp and dsdplus my log was showing heaps of this kinda<br>

Obviously im no expert, but lots of ERR1 that come and go can't be great.<br>
Both setups have a great signal from a good external antenna which sounds<br>
perfect via either FMP and FMP24.<br>
<br>
Have any of you had any luck with this? did you need to make any changes to<br>
your .bat files to work with Vital TIII here? do the ERR1 codes mean much?<br>
<br>
I have done all the usual stuff, tried a much faster computer, played with<br>
gain and channel bandwidth etc. nothing seems to much much of a difference.<br>
the ERR1 goes away for a few seconds then is back...<br>
<br>
Any help would be much apricated.<br>
