Hi all<br>

Is it possible to broadcast on the police radio network. Been alot of weird<br>
interference on the Dunedin channel lately. Radio siren buttons like those<br>
on cheep radios u push to send call alert. One time they played fuc*the<br>
police song over the air so someone's messing with it somehow.<br>

Yep. Most people who do are only transmitting on the repeater output, so<br>
comms won't hear it, just nearby units. That being said our local channel<br>
now has a CTCSS tone on it so even the nearby units shouldn't hear it<br>
either.<br>

CTCSS is obviously a waste of time for stopping people getting onto your <br>
repeaters. It does have its place for shared frequencies and reducing <br>
interference from adjacent channels which might have a stronger signal <br>
than the one you are receiving.<br>
