and UHF for portables. But yes WGTN free are on the system in Welly.

liked to see a National trunked network like Australian state systems but

are conducive to that. The cost to implement over lapping coverage and the

interesting topic, I admit I has hoping we would follow the
Aussie's<BR>with their state wide system.. They appear to have
a P25 system where<BR>Fire, Ambos and the Police are all sharing the
system, they are big too<BR>compared with here with easy 10 plus
voice channels per control channel.<BR>All (most) the police
remained encrypted however the others sharing the<BR>network where
in the clear.. I thought I heard some chatter re traffic<BR>issues
on their<BR>motorway networks in Sydney on talk groups that
generally aligned with<BR>encrypted traffic<BR><BR>Gold Coast ruined
that for me with fire and police encrypted and ambos on<BR>their own
system.. oh well that took the fun out of the morning
coffee<BR>before the family woke and the day
started...<BR><BR>Looking forward to seeing where this
