    They can easily work on the police band and more - along with other
    China no name radios. I would be interested to know if Comms can
    hear it as that would determine if he was using the input frequency
    or not.<br>

              chances are he's probably not bright enough to find the
              repeater input, so it's most likely the output aka some
              dickhead running around with one of those crappy baofengs
              which don't appear to be able to disable TX.� Sadly noone
              seems to be stopping them coming in, so noone is checking
              if they're going to people with a ham license.� The bonus
              is if it is the repeater output, then you know it's
              someone within a 5km radius of whoever hears, cos you can
              nearly guarantee it's a handheld.<br>

              RSM will only go locate if they get a complaint, so that's
              up to the police, they have their own techs who might have
              a crack at finding him I guess.� I heard some clown in
              Levin when I was down there geocaching late one night
              after going to a family event about 8 months ago.� Pretty
              sad. <br>
