Mike has it in one. Here's some of my thinking...<br><br>- Folks posting to this list asking for information such as this would be well to explicitly state that they've checked the wiki already; thus removing the obvious 'have you looked on the wiki' question.<br>
<br>- Failing to do so will invite a 'is it on the wiki?' question from someone. This may or may not be somewhat rhetorical...<br><br>- If folks have checked on the wiki and not found the answer to a question, and subsequently post a question to the list and get an answer, it's not unfair to ask for the material to at least be considered for the wiki; the whole point being to save someone else having to go through the same process days/weeks/months later.<br>
<br>- I did throw a smiley into my post deliberatley. My comment was slightly tongue in cheek, a somewhat subtle hint to folks to both check the wiki first, and to contribute material to it. Going off half cocked doesn't help anyone.<br>

I'm not in Central Otago and have no plans to visit and/or a desire to
listen to my receiver while i'm there, so personally, I don't care
about the specifics of the information you've gathered.<br>

However I do believe in the concept of, well, sharing; the wiki records
a bunch of information that I'm sure was hard-won (or just
hard-recorded) by _someone_ (or several someones) who decided that it
was nicer to share that information, rather than hoard it, for the
benefit of all interested.<br>

I'm happy for you that you are enjoying the fruits of your labour, but
if everyone adopted your attitude we'd hardly have a community at all,
and websites like <a href="http://radiowiki.org.nz" target="_blank">radiowiki.org.nz</a> wouldn't exist.<br>
<br>
In the end the Police freq's folks are listening to around the place
are going to become largely redundant with the introduction of
Digital+Encryption, so somewhat surprised at your miserly approach.
