Both the UHF antennas are for cross-band.

Yellow is the digital xband and Red is the Analogue xband.

The glass mount should be a cellular antenna.

They use to have glass mount for the xband but these were phased out awhile ago now.

Just because they have 4 antenna’s does not mean they are fitted for the radios.

Some vehicles are shifted around the country over the life of the vehicle and get radios fitted or removed dependant on the area of operation.

Cheers

Subject: [TheList] Police Car Antennas

Hi all,

Noticed some patrol cars have like 4 antennas on the roof (sometimes there's a glass mounted one as well).

There's generally one ESA band whip, one ESB whip, and a couple of UHF ones marked with yellow & red dots. I know one possibly does cross-band UHF/ESA but what does the other one (and the glassmount) do?

Does that also mean there are 4 tait mobiles installed in the car? I can only usually see one hhch or mic mounted on the dash.

Cheers,
BJ
