There is a fixed Police ANPR camera on the road out of Picton.

ANPR (Automatic number plate recognition) has been operational on a selected number of patrol vehicles for some time.

A recent press release stated that Police want to roll out ANPR across the fleet.

The article gave the impression that the technology wasn't currently being used here but that isn't the case.

I believe there are some fixed ANPR cameras around as well.

Yes, the little cameras are on the far corners of the light bar facing outwards at a 45 degree angle.
