Hi Tim,
Just echoing what others have said regarding the Wouxon radios.
I own a Wouxon KG-UVD1P and a Baofeng UV-5R, I'm not sure why I need two
dual band hand-helds, but there we go.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of either of these radios, yes, sure
they're "OK", but they have certain idiosyncrasies
like small buttons and I found the Wouxon quite hard to initially set up
and get it as I wanted it.
When you buy one of these radios and there is issues with it, you don't
often have any warranty to fall back on.

Yaesu (Vertex) would be the radio I would buy for someone else, I would
look closer at the VX-6 or the FT-60DR ( I believe that does
DMR?)

One other thing, be careful where you buy any sort of radio like this
from, I usually buy my Ham stuff through Andrews Communications in
Aussie, they are really on to it.

Cheers,
Mike Trump,
ZL3XD.
