I have recently laid my hands on a Australian Uniden 436 hand held which I find very good. HUGE inprovement over my previous Uniden. I have only been using it so far for Air, Marine, Rail, the fire choppers, etc so haven't had a chance to try the other modes yet.

I did look at the SDS100 but for what I need, couldn't justify the extra dollars and used scanners, 6weeks of looking, some leads but all ended up being dead ends or suspect.

But there are other scanners out there as well. Probably all have there pro's and con's.
