Good evening all,

I purchased my D-130J many many moons ago from Dick Smith and it's still
with me today. . . Dick not so much.

I concur, the 'Made In Japan' quality in materials &
construction/fabrication is just fantastic. Let's face it most things
Japanese far exceed expectations - except for maybe their nuclear power
stations!

Performance wise, for exploring the spectrum between 25~1300MHz that Diamond
is a real gem. Positioning just above rooftops [no high towers needed] and
combined with an RG-58 [50 Ohm] coax feed, my D-130J has been a reliable and
trusted scanning companion for ages.

Cheers,

Vaughan

Hi Guys and welcome,
If you're after a Discone antenna, the best one you can get is the
Diamanond D-130J.
I bought one of these some years ago, via Andrews Communications Systems
in Aussie,
It's never let me down yet and it's been through some pretty rough
weather!

I will say this though, some people are disappointed by the performance
of their antenna's, mainly because they didn't give much thought as to
how they were going to install it and feed it.
I have mine up at 15 metres above the ground on a mast, it is fed with
RG-213 Quad screened cable although you could use RG-58 quad screen, if
the run to radio is under 8-9 metres.

If you guys need any further help, by all means, sing out, this is what
this place is for.

Cheers,
Mike Trump,
