Hi Guys,
As Firefrog has mentioned, I do not want to use anything else, other
than my scanner(s) the BC785D is a Digital ready Apco-25 Scanner, Ctcss
& Dcs that has trunk tracker 3 capabilities. I have outdoor Antenna's .
I have noticed that on the Auckland Page of Radio-wiki, there is
comprehensive trunking information, but the Canterbury Page doesn't
elaborate into what settings are needed to obtain to get the trunking
system to work.

The software that I use is Proscan:
to upload to the scanner the following information is required:
Trunk Type = Off, Motorola Type1, Type 2, 800mhz, Type 2, 900mhz, Type 2
VHF, Type 2 UHF
Edacs = not sure if available in NZ
I-Call - ?
Control Channel = ??
=============================================================================================
Hi Greg,
Still got that BCT8 you sold me, have installed into car, got a scantx
antenna from Aussie, works a treat :-)

The scanner needs the P25 card to do P25 and I think it was limited to phase1... Type 1 and 2 wasn't a big thing here, the only LTR stuff would be the prisons that are now digital encrypted in Canterbury. I never heard of any EDACS systems either. So unfortunately to be the barer of bad news, but I don't see you listening to much trunking stuff with that scanner to be fair.
Richard

It's been quite some time since I was last in chch.
>From memory I was only able to monitor the t l parker 800mhz stuff.
I am not sure if it's still analogue trunking or if they have moved to dmr.
Any locals that monitor via the sdr's may be able to tell us that?

Take a step back and answer what we're indirectly asking.

The settings you mentioned are for a pile of systems not really used in NZ. As has been previously mentioned, your scanner won't do MPT1327 trunking (short of putting in all frequencies of the site you're listening to, then removing the control channel - which won't allow following certain users) There's no DMR capability (so rules out Vitals Tier3, Orion Tier3 and Push Wireless)

>From your tone you're getting frustrated, which is fine, but you haven't mentioned who you're trying to listen to, so we can't help with settings until we know the system type, which we can start to work out by the user. You say you've listened to 'the trunking system' but not which one

There wasn't any unencrypted P25 audio when I was down last, and I don't know if its type 1 or type 2. As I mentioned, I don't think your card does type2 so be aware of that also.
