Hi Richard,

If you are looking for a simple radio. Have a look at the Uniden 
EZI30XLT. The EZI30XLT covers 75-85MHz FM, 88-107.9MHz Wide FM, 
108-137MHz AM, 137-174MHz FM and 410-489MHz FM.

It has a very basic interface, which includes three instant buttons that 
can be programmed with any frequency in the operating range of the scanner.

The EZI30XLT is currently available from most Uniden retailers and have 
also seen people selling it on TradeMe.
