Bang-for-buck the Baofeng UV-5R and it's variants are worth a look, but the Wouxuns are still a more robust HT.

A few years ago, about 5, there was a Wouxun handheld that was pretty good, cheap, bang for buck for receiving most bands and transmitting on a few (provided you were allowed to of course).
Is it still the pick of the bunch or has something knocked it off its perch?
