Or....

Just tell the wife it's 'Glued on' when you drill holes for a 5/8 stud mount and hope she doesn't ask for proof. :-)

Even a screwed-on "L" only leaves very small holes that will not effect resale / cosmetics when removed and in most cars you don't need to drill holes for the coax as you can put the mount near the window and run through one of the many gaps around he top edge of the bonnet/vents firewall etc, and as Gary says, there are more than enough rubber grommets in the firewall of most cars you can sneak through.

Have you thought about going to a different no hole mount likes of a bonnet Z mount and running the coax through the firewall via one of the many rubber grommets?

Can anyone please help with a high gain receiving only vhf mag antenna? If I have to get it from Oz or US so be it.

I’m not allowed to put any holes in our new car!, and my existing mag ants are deaf on vhf.

Thanks
