Yes, but these rqadios had short antennae so I'm picking they are UHF. Possibly even P25

I'd look in the range 30-44 and 54-75 MHz as a starting point.

Very good info.
I've see the Army boys at checkpoints here in CHCH with new radios too but I haven't been able to find them yet.
Anyone else have a clue to what freq range we are looking for?

Been doing a bit of monitoring of RNZN comms in the 385-390MHz spectrum and noted activity on the following freqs in various modes:
385.100 Unid
385.150 Encrypted APCO P25 Digital
386.500 FM handhelds
387.150 Unid
388.100 Unid
388.125 Unid
388.150 Unid
388.250 Unid
388.225 Unid
388.275 Unid
388.525 AM - Air/Ground comms between Seasprite helicopter and patrol craft HMNZS Otago
388.950 Encrypted APCO P25 Digital
Anyone able to fill in the gaps or add others?
