What did you expect from a Uniden scanner? They have always been rubbish! 

The frequency banks are limited, the modes are limited. The steps are
normally fixed

But yes as you say they are cheap so they sell them.

 

Rob summed it up on the 5/05/2012 12:36 a.m.  There are even features that
are not in their  manual?

 

I bought an AOR-8000 second hand on trade me probably for a similar price
but it's 10 times the scanner and 10 years old.

 

Get what you pay for

Hi,
I bought one of these.
Although you can't argue with the price, you get what you pay for.
It won't even recieve local Fire Simplex from the next street over from here
with the stock aerial.
Connect it to a decent 75MHz aerial, it overloads the front end.
It is also quite hard on batteries when you use the back-light.
Save your money, you'd be wasting it by buying this "reciever".

This is my opinion only.
