Little Dick made millions from the place and retired to a life of luxury.

Woolworths brought it , changed the format to a Harvey Norman clone
and staffed it with people with no clues what so ever in anything.

EX customers moved over to Jaycar Electronics , started by two ex DSE top
managers i am told.

Now they wonder why it is has changed to be unprofitable.

I can tell them if i could find the Aussie phone number for Head Office.

Ray

P.S. Boss gave me a DSE $250.00 Xmas bonus voucher that i cannot find
much to buy at all.I still have it.

They're just 'dick smith'. They deliberately shed 'electronics' some time ago. And yes, nothing particularly useful in the component space anymore.

Went in there the other day to get some chocolate connectors, was told that I should go to Jaycar, as they don't stock that type of an item any more. They said they were "Dick Smith Electrical"

Reported in last Tusday’s “The Telegraph” that the Aussie retail giant Woolworths is preparing to shed the unprofitable Dick Smith electronics chain within weeks. Be interesting to see what happens on this side of the ditch!
