Nope - the lack of sitreps and stops is directly contributed to the paid
staff escalating their strike to include this.

Hi guys

Heres the background on whats happening here in AK & in Wlgtn

Wellington is trialling P25 radios in all vehicles on the NZP network. It is
trunked and non encrypted.

Each appliance has a dual install with a switch to cut over between the
older ESA and P25 ESB.

The reason your not hearing the trucks is easy.

The control room has linked its Tx together but not the Rx so you are
hearing one side of conversation yet the fire trucks are hearing each other
and the controlroom.

The radios being used are Tait TM9000 series c/w custom LMR large head based
on the older head used on the T2020 radios.

Steelcom (Whangerai & AK based Tait dealer plus NZFS contractor for
Northland, AK, BoP & Waikato) won a supply contract to supply data heads to
AK Region who migrated to UHF 3years ago with Tait TM8250 radios with custom
firmware to suit.

The data heads are a Canadian Windows CE based touch screen mimicking the
older T2020 functionality but connected serially to the radios.

AK went to UHF because the ESA NZP network was to prone to interference in
built up areas.

Hope this helps

Cheers
