I did notice recently that a company called "Steelcom" has been awarded the
contract to supply new 'button boxes' for NZFS. Has anyone from the Auckland
area amoung the 'scanners group' had a look inside a fire-truck recently and
noticed one of these updated version of the old original 'MSU'? This could
be what Tait down here are fitting in the Trucks.

Interesting to note still no Verbal Sit Reps on Wellington / Wairarapa Fire
(75MHZ channels) Just the dispatch (Verbal) followed by the toning. Then
nothing further other than the odd verbal message with further details on
the incident while the appliance is responding. Following that nil.
Interesting now i've seen John's comments regarding appliances going into
Tait in Petone recently for "mysterious" upgrades. Maybe the strike with the
Fire Services union has been extended or maybe something else going on?
Could also be something to do with the new frequencies listed on here
too.... But i haven't gone into that yet, just giving you guys an update.
