Hi Chris .
The Meter band is calculation of HZ in to meters,If you take 11 meterband divided into 3.000.000 cycles is 27Mhz
Suppose an Rf current has a frequency of 3.000.000 cycles per sec ,the field will go through a complete reversal in 1/3.000.000 of a sec.
In the same period of time the wave will move 300.000.000 meters ,by the time that wave have moved that distance the next cycle has begun.
The first wave in other words covers a distance before the beginning of the next one ,this distance is the wave length.

Example :the wave length corresponding to a frequency of 3650 kilo cycles is 82.2 meters < 3 00.000 : 3650 kilo cycles is 82.2 meters or 3.000.000 : 27Mhz is 11 meters

Regards Rolf

  Always puzzled me..
