Oops,

I errored, the wingspan of a 777-200ER (or 772) is 60.9m, the length is 
63.7m, still shorter than the 70.6m of the 747-100.

The 777-200ER does have the wider wingspan though. The 747-100 and 
747-SP are 59.6m.

I understand the 747SP-38's operated by QANTAS briefly (81-84) in&  out
of Wellington were only 56.3m long but had a MTOW of 304 tonne, but the
United 747-100 that did the fuel emergency landing in 81 was 70.6m long
with a MTOW of 333 tonne, the new Air NZ 777-200ER (or 772) is 60.9m
long and has a MTOW of 297 tonne.

Do some research, it's probably readily available info. Clearly the
United 747-100 is a lot larger than the 777-200ER (or 772).

Where did you get the 73.9m for a 777 from?
