[TheList] P25 in NZ encrypted yet?

Hi Team 

What's happening with p25 signals currently.

I was told over the weekend that the general Police staff are many months
away from encrypting their traffic?
With the exception of the black ninja's of course.

Anyone confirm if this is true? I've been asked by many people if it worth
buying a p25 scanner.
To which I've replied not worth the waste of $$.

Just want to get me facts right..
