All the more reason for them to go to Digital ASAP.

If it's annoying you, imagine being reliant on the radio for your job, 
more importantly the publics and your own safety.

Technically as the interfernce is 6.25 kHz off frequency it wouldn't be 
difficult (purely from a rechnical perspective) to eliminate it from 
being heard, it'd cost, but the real problem would be that the 
interfering signal, could potentially be stronger than your own, 
preventing you being able to communicate and no-one being aware it was 
there.

Why on earth NZ's ESA band was established with the repeater inputs 6.25 
kHz off the Australian repeater outputs, I'll never know... Maybe 
someone was leaving and did it deliberately?

Live and learn, Hopefully they won't do that again in a hurry.
