I too would like to pass on my sincere condolences to Lou's family and friends.
Had dealings with Lou through my past associations with the Maritime Distress and Safety organization.

EGods- I recall having many chats with  Lou in CB days in ChCH back in the 70's

To whom it may concern....

Lou has been very unwell over the last three weeks in the intensive care unit with swine flu.
He passed away this morning in Christchurch hospital.

Funeral will be held in Christchurch on Tuesday, Details to come.

Lou was a great person to know, loved the emergency services and his radio's.A close friend to me and a few others on nzfire.

Will keep friends updated.
